Went to a great show at Zaphod Beeblebrox on Saturday night.
Performing at the show were Freak Heat Waves, New Fries and Spell.
VIctoria’s Freak Heat Waves performed an insane post-punk set. It was like listening to a mix of Joy Division and Preoccupations! I need to go back and listen to their album Bonnie’s State of Mind. Speaking about Preoccupations, Scott who plays in the band was at the show just chilling. He is friends of the band.Second band to play was Toronto’s New Fries. It’s been awhile since I last saw them play. It was so great and they previewed new materials from their upcoming album dropping in the fall time!Starting off the show was Ottawa’s Spell. Performing an intense and loud experimental, noise and post rock set!
