Today the Guelph musician who you see play in U.S. Girls and Islands – Geordie Gordon – has dropped the music video for Spinning Wheel.
The leading single is taken from the upcoming album called Tambourine which comes out on November 2, 2023 via Victory Pool Music.
A mellow intimate indie folktronica tune.
About the track by Geordie:
“Spinning Wheel”, which features a clarinet solo by Karen Ng and accompaniment by the Bowed Arts String Quartet.
The song was “born from a deep-rooted memory, from an image printed in the back of my mind,” says Gordon.
“As a child, I would sleep over at the stone house my Grandparents built in a sheltered river valley. While exploring the swampy forest behind their home, my Grandmother would tell me stories of a magic wood, how other worlds filled with fairies existed alongside us, worlds that could only be seen by those who believed.
The writing of this song became the blueprint for the album, exploring formative moments in my life and how they shape me to this day.”
