For those who missed out this show at Cafe Dekcuf on April 13, 2011.
It was a fun dance party for a Wednesday night in Ottawa.
Playing at the show were:
The show started off with The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!
A first time to see this New York act live in Ottawa.
All I can say that was some interactive set.
Neil the lead singer told everyone to try on some of the costumes.
It was a crazy elaborate setup they had (If you look at the photos of what they had).

Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! music is very indie electronica dance pop!
Very similar to Rich Aucoin but American!
My favorite part was when he had a long line of jackets tied to Christmas lights and got people to do a dance line.

Like Rich Aucoin he had a parachute and got people to dance under it.

It was a totally fun and crazy set.
Listen to [ride friendship.]
Second was Rich Aucoin.
This has been the third time this year seeing him live.

For those not familar, his music is very dance pop and puts on a vibrant and visual show.
But he is surely worth it to attend since his shows are fun to dance, energetic and interactive.
He gets everyone singing words to his songs.
Still love it when he pulls out his rainbow parachute and everyone who was at the show going nuts on it.

Rich totally wants to play Ottawa Bluesfest this year.
Hope that will happen!

Listen to Push.
Last it was Gobble Gobble!
A first time to finally see Gobble Gobble live considering I’ve missed them at Pop Montreal.
Due to word of mouth from people I know telling me how wild their shows are.
I couldn’t agree more!
If you don’t know what their music is, I did a review of them a few days ago.
Cecil the lead singer came out in “wings” and did a slow number track and waving glowsticks in front of everyone.

Kind of a hypnotic way and when he did it to me, I “tried” to make a straight face.
Then it went wild when the three other members of Gobble Gobble came on stage.
They had on something that looks like tutus but had that jungle tribe look.
It was just wild, they bought up whatever kind of props on stage like shovels, bags, leafblower, helmets, a big ear, flatable bear(?) and whatever you can imagine.

Wacky as it was, I totally enjoyed their set.
I can’t wait to see them at Pop Montreal in 2011!!
Listen to End of Days and Wrinklecarver (both via Weird Canada)
Overall being on a Wednesday night, this was one show to remember!

Here are the rest of the photos.

Thanks for the review and the pictures. I’ve seen Rich Aucoin 5 times this year and have more fun every time. If you are in NS in July make sure to hit the Evolve Festival.
