Metric and July Talk with Murray Lightburn stopped by Ottawa’s TD Place for the Art of Doubt tour.
Kicking off the show was Murray Lightburn of the Dears.
Performing a solo acoustic set of singer/songwriter music from Hear Me Out which came out in February.
He mostly stood there with his sunglasses on and dedicated a song to his wife who was at the show. 7/10.
July Talk came on second on stage.
Love the big balloon which lit up that was on stage.
First three songs that I got to shoot in the pit were Headsick, Guns + Ammunition, Now I Know.
Fun listening to Push + Pull and Beck + Call.
Whenever they release album three, it will probably be massive.
It was a fun and entertaining show! 8/10.
Ending the night was Metric.
The band is currently on their North American tour in support of their seventh album Art of Doubt.
Started off with my favorite song, Dead Disco from 2003’s Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? which was more enough to be happy.
Mostly alot from the Art of Doubt, they did play favorites like Twilight Galaxy, Breathing Underwater, Gimme Sympathy, Monster Hospital and Help! I’m Alive.
Would have been nice if they performed Empty, seeing Emily wave her hair around.
It was a great concert for a band that hasn’t played a full indoor Ottawa show in quite some time (Minus Bluesfest). 8/10.
