The British musician Nia Archives dropped the EP called Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall via HIJINXX/Island Records.
A hyper fun hypnotic jungle/drum & bass electro-dance tune.
About the EP by Nia:
Exploring topics including love and loss, rejection, estrangement, the come up and the come down, on Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall, lyrically Nia reveals a new level of maturity in a coming of age, in soon to be an instant classic sonic project that leans back into her songwriting talent.
New unheard single “That’s Tha Way Life Goes”, offers a window into Archives’ future as she plays with both her musical and vocal ability as she ponders unrequited love.
Collaboration with Irish singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre yielded “No Need 2 Be Sorry, Call Me?” is a full circle moment with one of her musical inspirations.
The EP’s eponymous final track, with its production-heavy sound sampling the voices of her own friends, brings us back to real life, rubbing bleary eyes as sunrise makes itself known. In her own words, she shares:
“It’s the most exciting project I’ve made yet and it’s a window into the future and the kind of artist I wanna become. It’s like Headz Gone West 2.0, with these new techniques I’ve learned through a bit of trial and error so it’s a lot more of the song-based project with a couple of club moments.”
