My last night in Toronto for NXNE.
I decided to hit up The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Playing there were:
- Woodpigeon
- DD/MM/YYYY
- Ruby Coast
- Jason Collett and Hot Panda (both I missed)
- The Lovely Feathers
During the times I missed Jason Collett and Hot Panda, I went to the Reverb.
Playing there were:

Overall it wasn’t as crazy as Friday night’s venue hopping.
I was so anxious for the Horseshoe Tavern because it was a Sirius/CBC Radio 3 Live Broadcast.
It was alot of fun and glad that I was there in attendance.
The Horseshoe was crazy packed.
The show was hosted by Craig Norris and Grant Lawrence.
Brave of Grant for wearing a wool sweater during summer. But it was a nice sweater since it was handmade and had the CBC logo.
Woodpigeon were amazing.
I was surprised that Paul Aucoin of the Hylozoists was there backing the band up.
DD/MM/YYYY blew me away with their crazy electro rock sound.
Happy to see them since they had to cancel the Ottawa show due to one of the members being injured.
Ruby Coast was amazing to see live in Toronto.
They added a horn and trumpet player.
I thought it was cool and added more dynamics to their sound.
Then I was off to the Reverb and thank goodness I took the street car since my feet were kind of killing me from standing.
I got there in time when Said The Whale was settling up.
I was really surprised by the turnout for them.
I did surprised them that I was at NXNE.
I had to say the Reverb is an amazing venue for live music.
Was happy to see them again live and with a lively Toronto crowd.
After them it was Grand Analog.
Man that sound was booming.
It was such fun. Surprised thad Shad made a appearance and wasn’t expecting that to happen.
Funny part during his set was when a couple just went up the stage and danced with Odario.
You can tell that security is so lax there.
After that he made a joke about that this is what happens when people are on shrooms and do funny stuff like go up on stage.
Great set and had a fun time.
Went back to the Horseshoe Tavern and made it in time for Craig Norris introducing The Lovely Feathers.
I finally got to see a whole show of theirs.
Last time they were in Ottawa a few weeks ago and was there for two songs.
They were blew everyone away with their set.
Then Grant and Craig came out and said it was a fun night.
Grant gave me a shout out and other people who stood near the stage during the whole six hours.
Fun final night during my time at NXNE.

I can’t believe we kept missing each other! I saw Woodpigeons (love them), then popped out to see Novillero before heading to the Reverb for Said the Whale. Then collapse from exhaustion. We’ll have to connect next time, but I’m jealous of the CBC R3 shout outs – LOL
