Its June and it means its the start of the summer festival season.
NXNE is happening very fast and this will be my second time attending it.
I had such a fun time last time, maybe this year will be ten times as better.

This is part one of who I or *whoever is Toronto* to check out at this year’s NXNE. *This might list will change during the night of the festival.*
Not sure if there will be more additional shows on the first night of NXNE.

Velvet Underground:
- Cut Throat Kids – 8pm
(Four energetic enthusiastic hungry pop new wavers. Bright infectious stuff, a la Sum 41 and a heapin’ helping of Blondie. Very catchy and tons of fun.)
[Also playing are Ashley from Toronto, julia set generator from Toronto and The Wilderness from Toronto.]
- The Dirty Dishes – 9pm
(Shoegaze experimental grunge pop foursome gaining traction on The Hype Machine and featured as the number one pick on Passion Pit’s playlist for up-and-coming Boston bands.)
[Also playing are Brave/Deeds from Toronto and The Grass from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia]
- Still Life Still – 10pm
(Seen this band live various times and are a great band to catch live. Also they are on Arts & Crafts label.)
[Also playing at the Mod Club Theatre are The Blue Van from Denmark, Ko from Toronto
