After being away last year and was left in the duster.
The third annual Ottawa Rock Lottery came back in full force with the decidated help and hard working Samantha Everts.
Also with help within the Ottawa community, one being apt613, CHUO and many more.
The event went to a worthy cause which was the Ottawa Food Bank.
Alot of prizes were handed and surprisingly enough people were on hand to get them. 😛
Hosting the event was CBC Bandwidth‘s Adam Saikaley.
For those that don’t know what this is, here is a gist of it.
25 musicians from all different genres and bands.
5 bands determined by randomly pulling names out of a very stylish hat.
24 hours to create a 20 – 30 minute set of all original music.
1 night only!

More photos on here.
This year was very much indeed better than the last one.

Band 1 – Neon Tampon

- Ben Courtice(Hamilton),
- Rolf Klausner (The Acorn)
- Etienne Sylvin (Politique)
- Gloria Song (Scary Bear Soundtrack)
- Matt Rosen (Math Rosen)
Don’t ask on how they got that name. 😛
They put on a great set! It was very tight and there was a hint of “The Acorn” sound.
I swear they should make an EP out of it!!
Band 2 – Tiger & the Playground

- Jordan Allan (Paramedics)
- Mallory Giles (Politique)
- Sean Tansey (Miss Polygamy)
- Ian Keteku
- David Taggart (The Strain)
They totally got the stage rocking with a mix of rock and hip-hop.
Loved the song about Mooney’s Beach.
- Luca Furgiuele
- Arturo (Miss Polygamy)
- Billy Hatchet (Torcherror)
- Sam Seguin (Old Crowns)
- Jamie Kronick (Paramedics etc.)
A very wild and crazy set.
Luca sure knows how to entertain the crowds.
This was the only band that had two drummers.
Band 4 – Mongolian Struggle Arms

- Nick A (Polymorphines)
- David Wisjman (Fire and Neon)
- Tyler Johnston (The One Least Likely)
- Kate Sargeant (Oceans)
- Andrew Gelok (Trees)
Mostly a post-rock ambient, instrumental with some vocals.
Somewhat broke the rules when Ian Keteku came up and did some rapping.
Band 5 – The Demi Mooremooremoores (spelling to be negotiated) [Sadly didn’t catch that set :(]
- Mike Laing (The Love Machine)
- Mihajlo Kos (Babble Goons)
- Will Asaad (Oceans)
- Michael Simon (The Murder Plans)
Here are the rest of the photos.
