Ottawa Bluesfest 2024 [Day 5]

Day 5 of Ottawa Bluesfest 2024 was the biggest night of the festival so far, with an extra day added to the lineup featuring American country and hip-hop sensation Jelly Roll.
Announced just a few weeks ago, Jelly Roll’s performance was highly anticipated, especially for his Canadian debut.
His music, deeply resonant with themes of mental health and substance abuse, drew a significant crowd.
Though I didn’t stay for the entire set, leaving after the heartfelt “I Am Not Okay,” it was clear that this show was not one to be missed.

Before Jelly Roll was Shaboozey, currently dominating the Billboard Hot 100 with his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
He delighted fans by playing the chart-topping track twice at the end of his set.
Shaboozey’s performance also included material from his album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, showcasing his unique blend of country music.

Kicking off the evening was Ottawa’s own Dax, who energized the crowd with his mix of hip-hop and ballads. His dynamic performance set the tone for an unforgettable night.
