It was a very hot July 22nd in Ottawa.
At least it didn’t rain.
Here is 4in1 Acoustic Park Sessions #5 that took place at MacDonald Gardens Park.
Decided to have it under the nice stoned gazebo.
It was more like 6in1 but this was another good installment.
Playing at the session were:
• Factory Owl
• Alex Silas
• Kashka (LATER PLAYED AT RAW SUGAR CAFE)
• Hamilton
• Three Little Birds
• Atherton
Starting out the set was Ottawa’s Factory Owl.
They are a guitar, bass, drums, voice and orchestra ensemble started by Alex Millaire.
It took awhile for them to get ready.
But they pull it off with a nice set of orchestral pop rock music.
Funny that the cellist and violinist had their music sheets blown away from the wind.
Alex Silas came on.
He put on a nice acoustic hip-hop set.
He was accompanied by Anthony on guitar.
Played tracks from his EP Catania (Which is free to download).
I was amazed to how well he played the harmonica.
Really great set.
The surprise guest was Kashka from Toronto.
They got to do a two acoustic song set.
For those that don’t know, it is Kat Burn of Forest City Lover’s new project.
Let’s say it was the only time to hear an acoustic set from her.
Totally missed out for it.
But a lovely two song set.
I finally caught Hamilton, somewhat live.
It was only two of the members playing.
They did a nice acoustic set of their songs.
Matt mentioned that they don’t do these kind of sets since typical their music is pretty loud.
Matt and John pulled it off really well.
Matt and his silly bantering.
Three Little Birds put on an amazing set.
I swear I have seen them so many times that I lost count but they never disappoint.
They played tracks from their debut album.
They mentioned (if you go on their Facebook fanpage) getting into hot water.
I gave them a long time because Atherton hadn’t shown up yet.
Finally Atherton showed up.
He put on a great set of his hip-hop music.
Accompanied by Paul of the Gallop on drums.
Great and entertaining set.
Overall it was nice intimate setting for session #5
Thanks to Partus Films for filming this, so look out for it very soon.
