Had a wonderful time during Debaser‘s Pique ✦ fall edition on September 11, 2021.
Pique is a hybrid event that blends music and arts from indoor/outdoor shows, screenings, installations, workshops and online programming in Saw Gallery, Arts Court and Ottawa Art Gallery.
But with the pandemic, there was limited capacity and I was lucky to attend this and enjoyed this after having no events in about year and a half.
Also it has been so long since I ran from one place to another.
Performing that night were:
Jules Filmhouse performing alternative electro psych-hip-hop music.
Lady Charles rocking it out at the OAG’s Jackson courtyard.
Quinton Barnes performing some cool electronic R&B/Soul music.
Randy Schmucker had people laughing with stand-up comedy at OAG’s Jackson courtyard.
Yolande Laroche had an installation up called Journal d’Enfance.
Debby Friday had a fun DJ set where people was dancing.
Sydanie✧ got the audience dancing on the courtyard to the hip-hop music.
Frosty Valentine was a blend of dance, music and video projection. Wildest thing I have ever saw like an over the top club show.
Backxwash & Merchant Vaporwave ended the whole night with hip-hop horrorcore industrial music. The 2020 Polaris Music Prize winner literally had a moshpit (all that angst during pandemic) and excitement during the whole set.
Wonderful night to have happened.
