On the second day of RBC Ottawa Bluesfest was a nice Friday event of chill, rock and emotional music.
First act to capture was Ottawa’s Nambi & The Rhythm with some singer-songwriter music.
Over at the River Stage was Ottawa’s Mack & Ben with their poppy and soul music.
I was mesmerized with Tash Sultana with their hypnotic sound of psych-rock music.
Canadian Indie Alternative darlings The New Pornographers rocked the River Stage.
Great catchy poppy alterna-rock music that filled out the whole area but everytime the band plays Ottawa it is always a letdown that Neko Case & Dan Bejar (No longer with the band) isn’t joining them.
Performed a mix of everything from Mass Romantic, Twin Cinema, The Whiteout Condition and current album In the Morse Code of Brake Lights.
Kind of disappointing since those two will be play with band in either Toronto, Vancouver and US cities but still a wonderful set!
Check out parts of Jack Johnson‘s set
Very mellow and chill to say the least but wasn’t my cup of tea.
Before leaving, I was with friends and happened to catch one of his popular songs which was Banana Pancakes.
Loved how my friends were like moaning and groaning about that song.
One of those great moments at the festival.
Thanks to Ross Macdonald for letting me use his photos.
Now finally we get to Jeremy Dutcher!
It was so unbelievable emotional with his classical and operatic Indigenous music.
Started off with a new song that totally choked me up with that vocal.
Accompanied by a full which made the whole set so magical and moving!
Overall that was the highlight of the festival.
