Recently the Toronto musician Ryan Wayne dropped the single called Love’s Lost Languages.
A dreamy moody psych-folk rock tune.
About the track by Ryan:
Against a backdrop of his typically swirling, atmospheric production, Ryan Wayne offers a portrait of fading romance, as he shallowly casts a doomed lover’s prayer outside the church of St. Philip’s Square in Charlston, South Carolina.
Buoyed up by gorgeous Beach Boys harmonies, shimmering walls of synthesizer sounds, and an aching vocal from somewhere in Tom Petty’s neighbourhood, “Love’s Lost Languages” remains loosely tethered to the earth by Wayne’s mandolin.
“‘Love’s Lost Languages’ stemmed from a poem written in Charleston a couple of years back,” says Wayne. “Like the previous singles for the upcoming album, I’ve used a piece of artwork from a friend or family member — in this case, my 12-year-old (at the time) daughter’s school art project, a tribute to the late, great Jean-Michel Basquiat.”
