On August 18th, I went to the Rainbow Bistro to what I thought was to see three bands.
This will be my first time in this site that I will be somewhat vocal.
Apparently the venue had double booked two bands.
It was confusing and hysteria of who was playing who.
I wasn’t impressed with this because I was there just to support these three local bands.
Bands playing were:
Mishra’s Dream

Mud Lake

Bear Claps

Wire and Light (I sadly missed out)
Mishra’s Dream is from Nova Scotia.
Their music is instrumental and style is gypsy jazz.
With the confusing their set was about 25 minutes.
Mostly there were alot of people that were there to see them.
Some people were dancing to their music.
They were good and fun but I wasn’t really expecting this see this band.

Mud Lake is a Ottawa band.
Their music is indie alternative rock.
A funny part when the lead singer sang abit of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer” but sucks he didn’t sing all of the song.
They are nice band.

I didn’t stay much to see Bear Claps play.
With the time taking up with setting up and soundchecking.
Just took whatever photos of the band.
As mentioned before, they announced that they will be playing Pop Montreal.
It should be good for them.
If you want to know more about the band click here and listen to the interview I did with them.

I didn’t get a chance to see Wire and Light but I heard good things so far.
I should need to listen to that album of his and see what I think about it.
Overall it was not what I was expecting on a Tuesday night.
Go to a show and find out all the crazy drama that happens and who was suppose to play what.
There was one show which I won’t mention, I was expecting to see these two bands and all of a sudden they added another musician and it was just a waste of my time since I didn’t get a chance to see that band play due to time constraints.
I am just being bias but next time when a show happens please set the lineup in stone. Don’t like wild surprises.
It was a chaotic night.
As Tyson from Bear Claps called it “A Gong show!”
