While we wait breathlessly for a new Sigur Rós record, with word that it will come out in 2012, the band has dropped their first live album, on November 15, 2011, called Inni.
Inni is also a live theatrical concert and is being shown in various small theaters (hopefully Bytowne Cinema or Mayfair theatre will show it).
The concert was recorded at England’s Alexandra Palace in 2008.
If you haven’t seen a Sigur Rós show, you definitely have to see one before you die.
I was lucky enough to see them play at the Bronson Centre in 2005.
I doubt they will ever come back unless there is a suitable venue for them to play at.
Hoppípolla is still my favorite song, off their great album Takk… – unless you suggest another one for me.
Six years and counting, I haven’t gotten tired of that; it’s such a fun and happy song.
Have a listen to the Inni live version of Hoppípolla.
