Vancouver-based musician Tariq, the moniker of former CBC Radio 3 host Tariq Hussain, recently unveiled the music video visualizer for his single “The Ballad of You and Me,”.
The second single is taken from the upcoming EP Scroll Before You Sleep, set for release on January 24, 2025 via Tiny Kingdom Music.
The track showcases Tariq’s signature blend of lo-fi pop rock, capturing an effortlessly nostalgic music.
About the track by Tariq:
“Architect’s Studio” which tells the story of a poet who’s down on their luck and sleeping in an architect’s studio.
“Every morning they vacate the premises, sneaking out before the staff arrives to work,” explains Tariq.
“Do they have a place to go, friends or anybody that cares about them? The track discusses the current epidemic of loneliness that pervades our current society.”
