It was a fun night that happened at Babylon Nightclub on February 3, 2012.
Never got so excited and hyped for the band that played.
Seeing the props on the stage, you know this was going to be some show.
Playing at the show was:
• Yamantaka // Sonic Titan

• Boyhood

Ottawa’s Boyhood started off the show.
This was my second time seeing them.

They were great live with their indie lo-fi grungey rock music.
Of course I happened to catch lead singer Caylie bleeding on her guitar.
Now that is rock and roll!!

Would have wanted to hear more from them but they are new and only have an EP out.

The anticipation was very high for Yamantaka // Sonic Titan.
Having only seen them two years ago at Pop Montreal.
I was wondering how they will pull it off for the Ottawa audience.
Four of the members were on stage and started with the music.
Then the two main members literally made a grand entrance with an Dragon since it is “Year of the Dragon” on the Chinese Zodiac.

The members had makeup on and wore traditional costume that was all Asian.
They started off with Queens and it as just breathtaking.
It was a mix of people dancing and rocking out to the music and some standing curiously on what kind of show they are putting.
Felt like it was a mix of going to a temple or a telling a Asian Ghost Story.
Hearing Hoshi Neko was amazing.
I was surprised that the drummer was singing the numbers in Chinese (Cantonese).

Overall I was impress with the theatrics they put on.
You definitely have to catch them live.

Here are the rest of the photos.
