If you haven’t noticed on this site that I’ve been doing my Best of 2009 list.
While compiling my best of “Canadian albums”.
I felt I shouldn’t do a Top 10 since there were alot of great albums released in 2009.
Decided to break it down to a top 50 list and in five parts.
So here is the first part which I am counting from #41-#51
- Fortesses – Octoberman
- Migration – Arietta
- La Petite Nicole – Torngat
- As We Quietly Drive By – Jill Zmud
- I Might As Well Break It – Modernboys Moderngirls
- Are You Afraid Of The Danks – The Danks
- Before Tonight – The Framework
- Wave North – Sunparlour Players
- Carta Marina – Nightwood
- What We Talk About – Laurent Bourque

A rocking great album by this Toronto band.
A stunning instrumental album which has that Montreal feel.
A great debut by the Saskatchewan native now residing in Ottawa. Best tracks are Gold and East Of The Line
Best tracks are My Baby Says Boy, Don’t You Ever Go, A Hammond Organ Singing, I Can Hardly Stand and Happily Steady
Best tracks are Who Knows, Die Young, Automocar and Treaty Connector

A really unique album from this Montreal band. The drummer also plays in Parlovr. Best tracks are Heavy Magic Is Coming, Sunken Mountains, The Bright Girls of Summer and Skeleton Crew.
A talented musician who I saw at Bands Undone. Best tracks are All YoU Beautiful Girls, Fall In and Out and Living In A Movie.
