Canadian Albums of 2009 #41-#50

If you haven’t noticed on this site that I’ve been doing my Best of 2009 list.
While compiling my best of “Canadian albums”.
I felt I shouldn’t do a Top 10 since there were alot of great albums released in 2009.
Decided to break it down to a top 50 list and in five parts.

So here is the first part which I am counting from #41-#51

  1. Fortesses – Octoberman

  2. Best tracks on this album is Thirty Reasons and The Backlash

  3. Migration – Arietta

  4. A rocking great album by this Toronto band.

  5. La Petite Nicole – Torngat

  6. A stunning instrumental album which has that Montreal feel.

  7. As We Quietly Drive ByJill Zmud

  8. A great debut by the Saskatchewan native now residing in Ottawa. Best tracks are Gold and East Of The Line

  9. I Might As Well Break ItModernboys Moderngirls

  10. Best tracks are My Baby Says Boy, Don’t You Ever Go, A Hammond Organ Singing, I Can Hardly Stand and Happily Steady

  11. Are You Afraid Of The Danks – The Danks

  12. Best tracks are Who Knows, Die Young, Automocar and Treaty Connector

  13. Before Tonight – The Framework
  14. Wave North – Sunparlour Players

  15. Best tracks are North and Make A Sound.

  16. Carta Marina – Nightwood

  17. A really unique album from this Montreal band. The drummer also plays in Parlovr. Best tracks are Heavy Magic Is Coming, Sunken Mountains, The Bright Girls of Summer and Skeleton Crew.

  18. What We Talk About – Laurent Bourque

  19. A talented musician who I saw at Bands Undone. Best tracks are All YoU Beautiful Girls, Fall In and Out and Living In A Movie.
