Big Dick – Big Dick LP [Review]

After being in the Ottawa punk garage rock scene for a couple of years, this act will officially drop their debut LP on February 19th through Dirt Cult Records.
I’ve been playing some of the tracks on my radio show and trying not to laugh on their name.
Talking about Ottawa’s Big Dick.
They are a two-piece punk band consisting of Johnny (guitar/vocals) and Dave (drums/vocals).
In case you need to know:
Big Dick is named after the belligerent and bass-heavy Nomeansno song.
Big Dick @ Pressed
When you see them live they don’t look the punk IE spiked hair, tattered clothes, piercing and tattoos (Unless they are hidden).
The numerous times I’ve seen them live I am like “Whoa! this *bleep* is insanely good! :P”
This is a pretty solid heavy punk rocking loud album.
I am kind of blown away to how great it is!
I can’t tell if the album was made DIY or in a studio!? (Just saying!)
With tracks like Wolves and Medic which gets you moving around and kind of has that punk rock anthem sing along!

Best tracks:

  • Wolves
  • School Yard Violence
  • Coming Home
  • Problems
  • Colours
  • Medic
  • Mayday

RIYL: Death From Above 1979, Japandroids and Metz
I’ve give their album 8/10.
