Blue States – Alarms [Music Video]

Today the producer/artist Blue States dropped the music video for Alarms.
The third single is taken from their upcoming album World Contact Day which comes out on March 18, 2022 via Memphis Industries.
A cool dream pop vibe tune and the music video reminds me of Zero 7’s Destiny.

About the track:
This latest cut arrives as a deeply personal track for Dragazis remembering the day that his mother died.
It began as an instrumental that Andy had played around with for a number of years before finally passing it through to his friend and occasional collaborator, Allison Brice Grasso who provided vocal duties on the finished product.

Speaking about the new single, Dragazis says: “Allison and I were in a band called The Silver Abduction, on hiatus currently as she lives in the US now. I knew her voice would really complement the music well and set about writing the lyrics.
I wrote the lyrics to “Alarms” sitting in my garden in the beautiful sunshine of early 2020 but also under the shadow of lockdown 1.0 and the personal grief from having recently lost my mum.
“Alarms” is a simple personal account of the day she died but I wanted the song to be as positive as I could be.
I’ve always liked pop songs that hide a darker lyrical secret and I wanted Alarms to sound optimistically melancholic in this way.”
