Yukon Blonde member Brandon Wolfe Scott recently dropped the Monty Python-inspired music video for “Back For Me” via Victory Pool.
Produced and mixed by MOONRIIVR, the track is a fine blend of indie folk, pop, and rock with a warm, laid-back charm.
The playful visuals perfectly complement the song’s breezy melody and witty spirit, making for an entertaining and catchy release that sticks with you after the first listen.
About the track by Brandon:
“At its core, it’s a breakup song, but not a sad one.” Brandon explains.
“It’s about going through the motions of moving on while quietly choosing hope. I never wanted it to feel heavy. Even in the ache, there can be momentum and positivity.”
Originally written as a slower, finger-picked and reflective piece, “Back For Me,” out now on Victory Pool Records, transformed in the studio through collaboration and longtime friends and musical cohorts Gavin Gardiner and Champagne James Robertson of MOONRIIVR.
Joined by drummer and percussionist Lyle Molzan, the song evolved into something brighter, playful, and rhythmically alive, inspired by the buoyant spirit of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia.”
“Stacked vocal harmonies, driving acoustics, layered percussion, and that feeling of forward motion you can’t help but move to,” says Brandon.
“That shift changed everything.”
