Capital Music Week 2025 opened on a thoughtful note at the NAC’s intimate Fourth Stage with The Producer’s Chair, a special live conversation hosted by CBC Radio One’s Q host Tom Power.
Power sat down with legendary producer and industry executive Jim Ed Norman, who regaled the audience with behind-the-scenes stories from a storied career that includes working with icons like The Eagles, Anne Murray, and Kenny Rogers. Norman’s reflections offered a rare glimpse into the creative processes behind some of music’s most enduring hits and the shifting landscape of the music industry over the decades.
The evening concluded with a performance by Tara Shannon, whose warm stage presence and heartfelt songs.
