Today Toronto musician Dorothea Paas dropped the single Waves.
The final track is taken from the debut solo album of the same name which comes out this Friday via Telephone Explosion Records.
Very Country-esque pop song that is similar to Basia Bulat.
About the track:
Paas says: “I started writing this song while I was taking care of a friend’s dog and finding myself frustrated if I couldn’t figure out exactly what she wanted.
I laughed as I thought about how this situation gave me insight into other (human) relationships in my life.
“Waves Rising” contemplates the way it feels to try to consistently love someone, especially someone with whom you’ve established years’ worth of patterns and expectations.”
