I was surprised to see Freak Heat Waves as a duo instead of a full band. There set left me with a mixed feeling, some parts I liked which reminded me of a glitchy Chad VanGaalen to early days of U.S. Girls/Dirty Beaches when they went lo-fi rock. They are those bands who want to push the envelope and not give a damn what people say. Can’t wait for the new materials!Toronto’s FRIGS was the band I was mostly excited to see. With their agressive angsty loud punk rock music. I just wish they played a longer set. We just have to wait until fall for their long awaited album to drop!
