God’s Mom – God’s Mom EP [Streaming]

Today the Toronto-based group God’s Mom which is comprised of Bria Salmena (Orville Peck, Bria, Frigs, Sigil) and Andrew Matthews (WHIMM, Dime Lifters) dropped their self-titled EP via Éditions Appærent.
Three tracks of hyper and spastic indie experimental Euro-trance dance music.
Kind of reminds me of Crystal Castles.

About the EP from God’s Mom:
Three tracks of delirious Italo-inflected body music to take us into spring time and beyond.
They explore the combination of Calabrian folk singing and hedonistic dance music.
Drawing equally from sleazy euro-trance, EBM, and Bria’s Southern Italian heritage, God’s Mom EP is a cacophonous celebration of life.

Female group singing is an integral backbone of the music, constantly interrupted by elements of hook-laden club influences from the 80’s to the present. Lyrically, the music juxtaposes the rural struggles of the old world with libidinal and seedy portraits of modern living.
This collection of three songs is a brief glimpse of the sonic landscape God’s Mom has created. We sincerely hope that you enjoy <3
