Guest contributor Jason Phillip has written about Drones.
Not to be confused with the music genre, more about the aerial photo/video vehicles which are all the rage.
Drone usage has drastically risen in popularity over the last several years. A decade ago, drones were mostly used by military officials or professional filmmakers and photographers. However, this is not the case today. Many people are using drones for recreational purposes. The rise in popularity and affordability of drones has made their use much more widespread. For instance, you are much more likely to see drones being used at festivals today than you were a few years ago. This is really making an impact on how festivals are photographed and filmed.
Being able to photograph an event and include everyone in attendance is a very interesting concept.
Drones offer a very unique aerial view of your surrounding landscape. They allow you to capture images that were not otherwise possible. Festivals and similar events usually bring in large crowds. It would be impossible to take a photo of the entire event using a traditional camera. However, this is now made possible through the use of photography drones. Being able to photograph an event and include everyone in attendance is a very interesting concept. Many people use their own drones to photograph and record their own experience which helps them to share the overall experience they are having with their friends on social media. This helps give other people a better idea of what the festival is like and makes them interested in possibly attending themselves.
Drones offer so much potential to capture breathtaking and visually interesting shots and astounding video.
Overall, drone pilots have made a huge impact on film and photography. They have especially changed the way that people photograph events such as festivals. Drone photography allows you to take in the entirety of an event. Whereas, with a traditional camera you would have been limited to only your immediate surroundings. It is easy to see why so many people are drawn to them. They allow you to see things in a completely different way. They also allow you to take amazing photographs and record very aesthetically pleasing videos that are able to really capture your memories in a new and exciting way. As drones become more and more affordable to the general public, they will start to really change the way we view photography. Drones offer so much potential to capture breathtaking and visually interesting shots and astounding video. It is no surprise that people have begun to utilize this technology at events such as festivals. Essentially, drones have completely altered festival photography as a whole and have taken video recording an event to a whole new heights unseen before.
