Went to a nice intimate show at Raw Sugar Cafe on August 25, 2012.
Playing at the show:
James Irwin
Landon A.R. Coleman
Adam Waito
It was kind of low-key but that is what I like about it.
I was curious about James Irwin’s music.
The show started off with Adam Waito.
Basically it was just a solo set of Adam & The Amethysts.
It was just him on the guitar and played a nice set of tunes from Adam & The Amethysts’s catalog.
Sadly he didn’t do his version of Drinking In L.A.
Landon A.R. Coleman was next.
It wasn’t long ago I saw him open up for Sharon Van Etten.
This time he was solo and played on the acoustic guitar.
Played tunes from the album “Single Life” and some new tunes that is on his Bandcamp.
Lastly it was James Irwin.
His musc had that upbeat afrobeat pop sound.
Sort of reminded me of Pat Jordache, tUnE-yArDs and Vampire Weekend.
Jeffrey Malecki (ex-The Acorn [?]) was on drums and Adam Waito on guitar.
I really like the set.
Overall it was an enjoyable Saturday night at Raw Sugar Cafe.
Here are the rest of the photos.
