Bacon Fat Thursdays with Roberta Bondar, The Yips & Male Nurse
Month: August 2012
I forgot to post these photos but here it is! I went to Pressed on August 29th. Playing at the show: Fist City Big Dick Male Nurse (Band) I was curious to see how loud these bands can play at this somewhat residential area.
I was kind of surprised to receive an email from Michael Dawson of Library Voices. He runs a label called Young Soul Records. There is a band that he wants everyone to check out. They are called Young Benjamins.
Today I will be on the radio for the first time. Tune into CHUO FM 89.1FM at 1pm. For now the show will be under Radio Radio. If you don’t live in Ottawa, you can also listen online live on here. I will be playing songs. So you just have to tune and find out …
Went to a nice intimate show at Raw Sugar Cafe on August 25, 2012. Playing at the show: James Irwin Landon A.R. Coleman Adam Waito
Went to Pressed on August 24, 2012. Playing at the show was this Montreal band called The Pink Noise. So I was very curious to check them out. One reason was they were interviewed by Noisey/Vice.
Session #5 of 4in1 happened on July 22, 2012. Ottawa’s indie pop-punk act Hamilton did a nice acoustic session. I know they rarely do acoustic but I did convince them to do one for this session. It was two members playing at MacDonald Gardens Park. Check out the video for Canvas.
It was a folky pop rock night at Zaphod Beeblebrox on August 23, 2012. Playing at the show: Inlet Sound Dave Norris & Local Ivan Phantom Shores
Seems like October 2, 2012 couldn’t come any faster. Why? It is the drop date and highly anticipated second album by “Gorgeous” Hannah Geogras out on Dine Alone Records. Now the first single taken from the self-titled album is called “Robotic”. Have a listen to the song.
Previously posted on January 5, 2012. Now the music video has finally dropped. Have a look at this weird music video. Love the song but the video just abit bizarre. Maybe that is why I prefer Oblivion since it had that Montreal feel and before she exploded.
