Jasper Sloan Yip – love&worry [Listen]

Today Vancouver musician Jasper Sloan Yip released his first single in five years, “love&worry,” via Tiny Kingdom Records.
Known for blending introspective songwriting with lush indie-pop arrangements across releases like Post Meridiem and Strange Calm / Blushing Autumn, Yip returns here with a brighter, more immediate sound.
“love&worry” is an upbeat indie-pop tune that balances shimmering melodies with the emotional honesty that has long defined Yip’s work.
The track feels warm and lived-in, pairing catchy hooks with an undercurrent of uncertainty and reflection.
It’s a confident and welcome return from one of Vancouver’s most thoughtful songwriters.

About the track by Jasper:
“love&worry”, was inspired by the mayhem of early parenthood, he says.
“The arrival of our son caused life to compress and expand in completely different directions.
The shape of our world changed and I had to find new ways of making it all fit.
Four years in and I’m still struggling with that. Meanwhile, the maelstrom of the 2020s rages on in the background.
This song exists somewhere in between these two extreme places.
It’s about navigating this new season of life and the extreme weather that has defined it – joy, overwhelm, apprehension and revelation.”
