JEEN – Fairytale of New York [Listen]

It is that time of the year when Christmas and holiday music comes out.
Canadian indie alt-pop songstress Jeen released a cover of The Pogues’ classic Christmas anthem, “Fairytale of New York”.
The Toronto artist’s take is more of pop rock hazy vocal and guitar version.
While I prefer the original which has more angst, gruff and musiciality.
This will do for now.

About the Jeen’s version:
“It seems like the best Christmas song for the worst year,” says Jeen.

“I’m an Irish girl too, so Shane MacGowan is an elixir.”

With The Mahones’ Michael O’Grady on Irish whistle and renowned Toronto musician/producer Ian Blurton (Change of Heart, C’mon, Future Now) on lead guitar.
