About Forever Is Now:
Forever is Now is a dose of pure energy, a craving to live fully in the present (especially in times like these) and it’s a feeling that builds up from song to song.
The album is a collection of sounds that takes roots in dirty punk rock (“Sadgirlsclub”, “Fuck It I’m In Love”, “Trigger”), as well as old rock ballads and melodic pop tunes (“23”, “1994”, “Courtney”).
Singing about love, girl power, and conspiracies, the themes and lyrics broadness reflects the vivid imagination of the band’s vocalist and lyricist.
To the power-trio winning formula (guitar, bass, and drums), the girls went all in this time and made bold artistic choices such as boosting the songs with touches of 80’s synths and dancing percussions or even putting Kanye West’s style auto-tune in one of the songs.
They were able to play out of their comfort zone with the help of new collaborations in the studio with Simon Kearney and Marc Chartrain. Les Shirley even shows off their soft side with the acoustic ballad “Pick Up The Phone”, a song they created with singer-songwriter Pascale Picard, a music idol that had a great impact on each member of the band during their teenage years.
