Recently the Burlington, Vermont musician Lily Seabird released the album called Alas,.
A nice epic moody dream folk and pop rock album.
About the album by Lily:
Alas, is warm, harsh epiphany from one of the most promising songwriters on the Eastern seaboard.
Displaying her mastery of song-craft, the ten-track-collection seamlessly traipses between moments of whispered indie-folk and gritty alt-country, with hints of shoegaze and slowcore acting as vignettes around the edges.
Reflecting on the cycle of grief, the record seems to never stop growing, building on top of itself which each track, proving its idiosyncrasy with each turn it takes.
“The album is about loss, coming of age, and sadness but there are also all these moments where happiness takes over,” says Seabird.
“It can be two things at once: life isn’t just pain and sadness, there’s also joy. They can all exist at the same time. Alas, is an expression of grief but it’s also for letting go.”
