Halifax’s Long Long Long seem to be releasing new materials like candy.
Wanting them to very well in 2011.
I was going to do a short review on this (A long title if you say it one breath!) EP called album name
A Girl Drinking Orange Juice Feels Acids On The Sides Of Her Tongue. She Also Smells Citric Aromas And Feels The Wetness And Cold.
Which is one or two songs.
Don’t forget the band will be playing a show on April 25th at Mavericks. [Facebook event]
For those feeling the withdrawal from the so called “break” from Calgary’s Women.
Have no fear! It seems to be Long Long Long is picking up where Women left off with their blend of lo-fi experimental 1960s summer-like pop music.
What is cool about this new EP besides the use of the F-Bomb in it’s title.
There are two tracks which is pass the two minute mark.
Still maintaining that whole experimental guitar-pop sound.
There is that Beach Boys influenced sound when you listen to Sure, Sometimes You Win.
Love their 8 minute epic You’ll Not Guess Who I Met in Minnesota filled with fuzzy guitar and vocal sounds.
Best tracks:
- There Are Tape Machines Down There
- Sure, Sometimes You Win
- In a Geometric Fashion, Grass in a Geometric Fashion
- You’ll Not Guess Who I Met in Minnesota
- If There’s A Rumble, You Guys’ll Back Me, Right?
Basically I love the whole EP.
Being Long Long Long’s fashion to come up with long song titles.

Also check out the tune Nothing A Little Tonic And Combing Can’t Fix from the “long” EP title A Girl Drinking Orange Juice Feels Acids On The Sides Of Her Tongue. She Also Smells Citric Aromas And Feels The Wetness And Cold which drops on May 20th.
Which comes with another track which I haven’t heard called Good, Charles, Good.
Anyways “Who The F**k Said Family Ain’t Family No More” is free to download on their Bandcamp.
Don’t forget to see them on April 25th in Ottawa.
