Ottawa Showbox held their first Hip-hop nite at Mugshots.
Performing were Crookid Bass, G.Grand and Hyf Gypsysun.

The show started off with G.Grand. He really put on an awesome set of hip-hop MCing. I enjoyed that set.

There was a poetry by King Kimbit. I’m going to quote a friend (Don’t get mad at me). That friend said “You don’t antagonize the audience by telling them to shut up. You get them more riled up and turn against you. This being at a bar when people will be chatty and want to have fun.”

After the poetry set. It Hyf Gypsysun’s turn. Performed a great set.

Crookid Bass who are a duo consisting of King + Yusso. They ended the night with a fun high energetic set.

Overall this was a great night and shows that Ottawa has some great talent.
