It still hasn’t phased me that it’s already July, summer and the start of Ottawa Bluesfest 2011.
Just say the first day was loud, epic and out of this world.
Who I saw on July 5, 2011 were:
Coheed & Cambria was very loud.
I wasn’t really familiar with their music but it was very entertaining.
Really like the lead singer’s “big hair”.
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes just amazed me!
First time I saw them was at Osheaga in 2010.
It was just brilliant! All I can say was the first three songs they played are my favorite and pretty long!
They sang 40 Day Dream and Janglin.
Of all the times, I didn’t know they were American. I felt they had that British or Australian presence. I was totally wrong.
The Flaming Lips despite not being the headliner this year.
Put on an out of this world set!
You had to be there to believe it.
Wayne did the human ball and there was streamers, confetti and giant balloons everywhere!
It was so trippy that you weren’t even on something to experience that kind of excitement!
Tegan and Sara I saw for abit at the Subway Stage.
I was happy for the first three songs they sang.
They played Call It Off and Back In Your Head. Forgot the name of the third song.
Bootsy Collins got everyone all funky at the Hard Rock Stage.
This topped off my first day of Bluesfest 2011.
