Pop Montreal Celebrates Sweet 16!

It’s that time of month that I head down to Montreal for the annual Pop Montreal festival.
The festival is celebrating 16 years and calling it “Sweet Sixteen” and same time as the city is celebrating 375.
Taking place on September 13 – 17.
I have been going to Pop since 2009!!
Ranging from Arcade Fire, Mac DeMarco, Grimes and whoever you can imagine!!
It is going to be big fun and overwhelming time to check out 400 artists in over 50 venues.
NOTE: Check out the delegates page, you never know which label/indudtry heads might come to the show.
So bear with me with the picks I am going to choose.
Let’s party on Montreal!!!

September 13th:

Start off by going to the opening party at Pop HQ. Performing will be Wake Island + Eva Tolkin + Algodón Egipcio + BOSSIE + Pelada

Fashion Pop 2014
From 2014’s Fashion Pop. This year’s Fashion POP design contest is presented by THEFINEPRINT Magazine, an independent visual guide which seeks to bring forward projects calling into question the Zeitgeist in a playful yet diligent manner. The competition, in its 11th edition, will take place in the elegant and dreamlike sets designed by Toby Gauley of studio art & métiers. Working under the theme “True Self/Projected Self”, the 10 designers shortlisted for this year’s contest will each present a critical fashion creation as an immersive exhibition. In a spirit of collaboration and inclusion, Fashion POP will introduce this year a sister competition which will interpret the theme through editorial fashion photography.

This is going to be a really sad and emotional show! The new album A Crow Looked At Me deals with the death and loss of Phil’s wife. How the music and album helped him on the grieve! Bring out the tissues if you can.

It’s going to be a toss up with Mount Eerie and this show. Depending on the time. Hopefully I can catch Jay Som!!

Finishing the final night of Pop. There is some buzz surrounding Hurray For The Riff Raff.

“Almost Official”? Why not!? Party hardy!!
