Powerful Performance by Tanya Tagaq + Awesome Set by Doomsquad @ NAC Fourth Stage

This couldn’t get any experimental and mind blowning for the NAC on November 7th.
It’s one of those shows that couldn’t be rearrange/accomodate due to Tanya Tagaq winning the 2014 Polaris Music Prize.
Definitely it was one of those you shouldn’t have missed out and was fortunate enough to see this show.

Toronto’s Doomsquad began the show.
It was refreshing to see them play.
This time they had Brandon of Mas Aya doing percussion with them.
The band played an awesome experimental psychedelic-trance electro music.
Previewed some new tracks on an upcoming EP and some from Kalaboogie.
It made me want to dance but being in the Fourth stage it is hard where it is a seated venue and you will look like an idiot doing so.
Definitely my favourite set!

Then it was Tanya’s turn to shine the stage.
She had about 10 minutes to talk, just to feel more comfortable in a intimate setting.
There was no song setlist.
For the 45 minutes during the set it was non stop of pure intense of her throat singing and moving around.
I was left jaw dropped and speechless.
A powerful and magical performance and I was very glad to catch it.
