Sheezer @ Sneaky Dee’s [NXNE 2011]

After the fun insanity of Rich Aucoin at the Garrison.
Happen to skip out the “secret guest” which happened to be The Luyas.
I took the taxi to Sneaky Dee’s to see Sheezer.
Not to my knowledge was totally packed.
So I had to wait in line.
I was so anxious and wanted to support them since I was wearing my Sheezer t-shirt all day. (During the whole day people were commenting on the t-shirt!)

I swear it took forever to get inside the venue.
Did see the drummer for Born Ruffians in line but eventually got in really quick.
While waiting in line, the people who were kind of frustrated did their own spin on singing Weezer tracks.
So I joined in and sang “El Scorcho”. You had to be there to believe it.
Finally after waiting for like 25 minutes I got in.
Inside Sneaky’s was totally packed and there was no way for myself to take some photos.
I noticed Michael from Meligrove Band in the merch table.
So I asked if he can look after my “heavy” bag, which he did.

It was like Toronto indie bands hanging here, from Born Ruffians to Tokyo Police to Young Rival to Ruby Coast (They were playing before at Sneaky’s) and others.
Felt like heaven for those who love these bands.
So I pushed my way up to the crowds as humanly possible.
Even people were body surfing and I had to duck down in case I don’t want to get kicked in the face.
They played the last three songs which were:

  • Say It Ain’t So
  • Holiday (?)
  • El Scorcho

Afterwards I got to say hi to the members of Sheezer and showed my support with the t-shirt I was wearing!
It was a crazy hot show overall and finally experienced a Sheezer Toronto show!!
This could have topped my Friday night at NXNE!
