The Elwins – Play For Keeps [Review]

elwins-pfk
I’ve been a fan of The Elwins since they released their debut album “And I Thank You” back in 2012.
2015 should be a big year for them since they finally released their long awaited second album Play For Keeps on Hidden Pony Records.
They really stepped it up a notch on this album.
Still maintaining their upbeat catchy pop music but this time has abit of that maturing sound.
While the first album had more of the DIY poppy sound.
I’m simply calling Playing For Keeps an electrifying-pop album.
Part of me feels like I am listening to Tolyo Police Club with that synth-electric pop sound.
Still a great album to literally move and dance around to.

Best tracks:

  • Show Me How To Move
  • It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over
  • So Down Low
  • Bringing Out The Shoulders
  • Backing Up
  • Away Too Long
  • Is There Something?
  • Shinning Star

I’d give Play for Keeps 9/10.
Check out this live performance of Off The Wall.
