It was a wonderful and spectacular sold out show at Raw Sugar Cafe on March 9th.
One band with it’s folk-rock.
The other band was instrumental.
Playing at the show was:
• The Wilderness of Manitoba
• Flying Hórses
It wasn’t as crazy as the last time they played at Raw Sugar Cafe.
Also it was nice to have people standing.
The show started off with Ottawa’s Flying Horses.
Here is brief description:
Flying Horses is an instrumental journey through childhood memories of summer carnivals, dusty dollhouses and wide-eyed innocence.
I have to say it was a nice and enchanting set.
All instrumental and no singing at all.
Very different and Ottawa needs more of that kind of music.
If you like Ferriswheel and Torngat then check it out!
Then it was The Wilderness of Manitoba’s turn.
I hadn’t seen them since August 5, 2011 at Raw Sugar Cafe.
I was surprised with the change in line up with the members.
But anyways I wanted to hear them play tracks from their new album Island of Echos.
It was an amazing set they put on.
They had more of the indie folk-rock sound this time than the folky-orchestral-pop sound.
I thought I didn’t need earplugs but it was loud! 😛
They did a wonderful encore.
Ended off with Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams.
Overall it was a great show.
