NOTE: The music is in Japanese. No I wasn’t in Japan. 😛
I was woken up today at around 6am (Ottawa time).
Why? Utada Hikaru had a concert called “Wild Life”.
It was broadcasted live through USTREAM on December 8th from 19:00pm (Japan Time GMT +9).
I missed out some songs in the beginning which were: Goodbye Happiness, Traveling, テイク 5 (Take 5), Prisoner of Love, Colors, Letters, Hymne à l’amour ~愛のアンセム~ Imu a Ramūru (Ai no Ansemu), Sakuraドロップス (Sakura Drops), Eclipse (Interlude), Passion, Blue, Show Me Love
I managed to see: Stay Gold, ぼくはくま (Boku wa Kuma), Automatic, First Love, Flavor of Life, Beautiful World, Hikari, 虹色バス (Niji-iro Basu), Across the Universe (the Beatles Cover), Can’t Wait Till Christmas, Time Will Tell
The concert sort of coincided with Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.2.
It was recently announced that she is planning to take a break from recording from the end of this year.
Last month EMI reached a new agreement with Hikaru and her management office for a new global recording contract for when she returns.
I haven’t been caught up in Japanese music in quite some time.
Only Utada Hikaru is the one I sort of keep up to.
Last time I did a album review of her second English album “This Is The One“.
It was a lovely concert to watch online for those who don’t live in Japan.
I was more surprised that she sang The Beatles’ “Across The Universe”.
Wasn’t expecting her to do an English track.
She did three costume changes.
I would have wanted her to sing Movin’ on Without You, Addicted To You, Wait & See, For You, Final Distance and Can You Keep A Secret?
Probably with the timing of the show and the nature.
It would have been a long show and not appropriate for a farewell concert.
Another surprise was that some of her band members, I think there were two from Canada and one from New England living in LA.
I was like WHAT!!
Since the news that Hikki will be taking a break from the music, you can see by the last two songs.
That she was emotional about it.
I think she deserves it since she been in the business since she was 15.
In 2011 she will have a new outlook in life and hopefully something fresh with her music.

I’m very impressed. You must live closer west than me or woke up late. At least it could be seen again thur the youtube channel. I did get emotional on ‘Passion’, it is my favorite and first asian song…
Thank’s for the review!
