Adrian Underhill – Better Side [Music Video]

Recently the Toronto musician Adrian Underhill dropped the music video for Better Side.
The third single is taken from the upcoming album After This which comes out on September 29, 2023 via Next Door Records.
An retro-80s new wave pop vibe tune.

About the track by Adrian:
The single centres around themes of isolation and mental health struggles.
Regarding the creation of the single, Underhill says: “For about 5 years I was living in a mid- size city outside of Toronto while my partner finished her schooling there. Looking back, it was a pretty lonely time.
You know how sometimes you don’t notice that you’re in a tunnel until you’re through it?
I was in a tough place where it was hard to open up about my struggles and anxiety, even to my loved ones.
But when I moved back to Toronto, it felt like a weight had been lifted. It was like my life had regained some momentum, and I was so grateful for this new chapter.”

Shot in the Port Lands area of Toronto, the video places Underhill in front of a deserted industrial waterfront.
“It seemed like the perfect secluded backdrop for this lonely song.
In the video I’m using a camcorder that is being live projected on a screen behind me.
I wanted to use this as a visual representation of the self-analysis that is happening in the song.
I also set this video at night so that I would look like a lone brightly lit character in a large black space.
Lastly, there is a small easter egg that references the music video for my song, Where To Begin. See if you can find it :)”
