Today, Toronto artist Alyson McNamara dropped the Yu Su remix of After Hours.
The original track is taken from the album Let Me Sleep which came out in June 2021 via Ghost Pepper Records.
The After Hours remix make the song a hazy moody and ambient dreamy dance vibe feeling.
About the track:
“When we finished tracking ‘After Hours’, we couldn’t stop dancing to it in the studio” says McNamara.
“We kept laughing and exclaiming that it was our ‘golden goose’ because it really got us moving and we were so excited about all of the sneaky percussion on it (which Daniel (McNamara) and Kevin (Richards) tracked, looking like kids in a candy shop running around the studio from instrument to instrument). Since the groove is such an important element of this song, it seemed like a great one to ask Yu Su to remix with her wonderful flowing, rhythmic style.
Yu Su is a really talented artist and it’s been so fun to hear her creative ideas for this remix.
I love the spaced out, patient grooves as they align with my style in a new, exciting way and she really echoed a feeling that I was going for with my album – take your time. I could sit in the world of this remix for a long time, letting it wash over me hypnotically and I hope that listeners feel the same way.”
