The last time I went and covered CityFolk Festival was in 2014 when the festival was at Hog’s Back .
Why I kept missing CityFolk was because the festival happened at the same time as Pop Montreal (This year’s Pop is now at the end of September).
So I finally got to check out the festival at Lansdowne Park.
Kicking off the 25th anniversary for a Wednesday night.

Steve Earle & The Dukes was the first act to perform.
Still nice and sunny out, the band was performing from the album Copperhead Road which is 30 years old.
Filled with hard rock and country rock, I wasn’t familiar with the music.
Steve told some nice stories during the 90-minute set. 6/10.

Second act to perform was Kaleo.
Hadn’t seen them since last year where they opened up for The Lumineers at the CT Centre.
Really enjoyed their set which was a mix of rock, blues and alternative music. 8/10.

Ending the night was Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Wasn’t familiar with their music but it was a nice mix of rock and blues. 7/10.

Overall for Day 1 – 7/10.
