I don’t usually review cameras on my blog, but I wanted to make an exception for this one.
I recently picked up the highly popular Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo, and after using it for about a week, I’ve been having a great time shooting instant photos of family and friends.
There’s something charming and nostalgic about seeing the photo develop right in your hands—it’s an experience that digital photography can’t quite replicate.
That said, the camera isn’t without its flaws.
The shutter release can feel a bit clunky, and the autofocus takes longer than expected, which makes capturing quick, candid moments a bit tricky.
I also found the battery life to be underwhelming, and once, the LCD screen stayed on even when the camera was turned off—a weird glitch that I hope doesn’t happen again.
But being a hybrid instant camera, the Instax Wide Evo does offer some cool features that make up for the quirks.
One standout is the lever that lets you choose which images you want to print, so you’re not wasting film on shots you don’t love.
It also comes with creative image modes, like light leaks, monochrome, and my personal favorite: double exposure. These little touches let you experiment and add a unique feel to each print.
While the price point is definitely on the higher side, I’ve really enjoyed using this camera.
It’s not perfect, but for casual fun and creative expression, the Instax Wide Evo has a lot to offer.
