OAG’s Spring Exhibition Celebration 2026

Last night, I attended the Spring Exhibition Celebration 2026 at the Ottawa Art Gallery.
Held in Alma Duncan Hall, the evening brought together artists, curators, and the community to celebrate a diverse and compelling lineup of current exhibitions.
The event highlighted several shows across the gallery, including BECOMING | UN | BECOMING: Deepening Relations by Leah Decter (on view until August 23, 2026), and Faith Fyles: In Full Bloom (running through September 27, 2026).
Visitors also had a chance to experience Chroma, which wraps up this Sunday, making the celebration a timely opportunity to catch it before it closes.
Also featured were multiple works by Jennifer Macklem, including Threshold (with Faezeh Maleki), Flightpaths: Initiations, and Diatom Rose Window on Level 0.
In the Mackenzie King Courtyard, Stephanie Tenasco’s Sàgàbigonì offered a striking presence.
The evening included speeches and a thoughtful conversation with curators and artists, hosted by Alexandra Badzak, adding deeper context to the works on display.
Altogether, it was a vibrant and engaging celebration of contemporary art in Ottawa, bringing together a wide range of voices, perspectives, and mediums under one roof.
