WKWP – WKWP [Streaming]

WKWP is the ambient project of HOMESHAKE and Kyle McCrea, and today they released their self-titled debut album via Dine Alone Records.
The record drifts through moody, hazy, dream-laden soundscapes, carrying that unmistakable Piter & Kyle touch—soft textures, glowing atmospheres, and a sense of quiet immersion.
A beautifully meditative listen, it feels like the kind of release destined for rotation on KEXP’s Pacific Notions.

About the album:
The album was composed by sending tracks back and forth over email and working on them separately, an odd process considering they live just 2.3 km apart and see each other often. They rarely talk about the music in person, leaving the project to exist almost entirely in the quiet space between their inboxes.

A blend of field recordings, analog synthesis, experimental percussion, as well as lap steel and guitar, form the foundation of WKWP’s self-titled release. Originally setting out with the intention of creating an “Ambient Country Record”, the final result has produced an album which pulls from influences across many genres, including electronic, ambient, country, minimal music, and musique concrète.
