Best of 2012: Non-Canadian Albums [TOP 12]

If you were wondering where the “Best of” list for Non-Canadian albums of 2012.
Here it is.
For now I am going to “Best of” list my Top 12 favorite albums that came out in 2012.
It might be typical to who will be in the list but at least it will open up a the dialogue on who should or shouldn’t be.
So check it out!
Hope you will agree or disagree 😛

1. Dirty Projectors – Swing Lo Magellan [Has that organic rock sound and in my opinion has to be one of the most original album in terms of music and lyrics that came out in 2012]

2. Beach House – Bloom [Their formula of dreamy pop-rock hasn’t change but couldn’t help but be in trance with their music. Anyone love Lazuli?]

3. Fiona Apple – The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do [Ambitious long album title! One of those artist who hasn’t changed her style of music *cough* Tori Amos* and kept intact the way songwriting.]

4. Tame Impala – Lonerism [Psychedelic rock fun is all I can say!]

5. Savoir Adore – Our Nature [An out of this world album filled with upbeat indie pop and dance music.]

6. Eternal Summers – Correct Behavior [Great catchy pop-rock and dream punk band from Roanoke, Virginia]

7. Alt-J – An Awesome Wave [They won the 2012 Mercury Music Prize, so why not put this in the list.]

8. Sigur Ros – Valtari [May not be their strongest record but still love what imagination I can vision when listening to this album]

9. Niki and The Dove – Instinct [Electronica band from Sweden. Sounds like what happens if you mix Kate Bush, Feist, Goldfrapp and Bjork into one.]

10. Friends – Manifest! [Crazy dance pop music from Brooklyn]

11. The xx – Coexist [Best track is Reunion]

12. U.S. Girls – Gem [OK I know she lives in Toronto but technically she is American and the album is on FatCat. Gem is a departure from the indie experimental lo-fi pop cassette-tape sound into a clearer sounding vocal experimental alterna-rock album. Track – Another Colour]

Rest of the list:
13. Freelance Whales – Diluvia

14. Wild Nothing – Nocturne

15. Passion Pit – Gossamer

16. Frank Ocean – Channel Orange

17. Zulu Winter – Language

18. HospitalityHospitality

19. Grizzly Bear – Shields

20. Cloud Nothings – Attack On Memory
