Today, Toronto-based band Casper Skulls dropped their wintery cold music video for Thesis.
The leading single is taken from their second album Knows No Kindness which comes out on November 12, 2021 via Next Door Records.
A moody indie pop rock that feels U2 on the scorching guitar sounding vibe.
About the track:
The new track from the quartet presents a change in direction from their previous sound, switching out some of the shoegaze and 90s alt-rock sensibilities and replacing them with more expansive, dreamlike notions cut alongside hints of folk inspired by Neko Case, Neil Young and Gillian Welch.
As well as this new sonic approach, Knows No Kindness finds St-Pierre taking on all lead vocals as well as welcoming drummer, Aurora Bangarth to the fold.
With “Thesis”, guitarist Neil Bednis and bassist Fraser McClean’s strings glisten where they would have once squealed with the former finding something almost lyrical in his playing, while Bangarth’s drums shuffle where they previously pounded allowing for Melanie’s vocals to harness more clarity.
