I was thinking of going down to Toronto for Wavelength Music Festival 13.
But the logistics of getting back to Ottawa on the 16th was even going to happen.
So I decided to stay in Ottawa and attend this rocked out show.
Playing at Pressed was:
• Cousins
• Grime Kings
I finally got a chance to see Grime Kings since missing out their tape release in November.
Fronted by Callum Runciman (Yes he is related to Caylie Runciman of Boyhood).
They played an amazing set of indie lo-fi alternative grungey rock music.
Still can’t believe they are really young but damn they make really great music.
Kind of surprised that their set didn’t get too rowdy as I hope it to be. 😛
Lastly it was Halifax’s Cousins turn to come up.
I’ve seen them so many times that I’ve lost count.
In case you don’t know, their music is very indie grungey lo-fi pop rock with a Halifax feel to it.
But definitely the vibe for them was 10 times big since it was sort of a all-ages show.
This was the first Cousins show in Ottawa that people actually moshed to their music.
I had to join in the fun but had to stop midway because it was so hot that I almost passed out.
Cousins did preview one or two new tracks for an upcoming album.
Overall it was a kick ass time at Pressed.
Here are the rest of the photos.
